THE OFFICE OF MAYOR STEPHEN R. REED |
FOR IMMEDIATE USE |
POWERS & ASSOCIATES REAL ESTATE OPENS NEW HEADQUARTERS IN CITYMayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to officially dedicate the new Powers & Associates LLC real estate development headquarters in the city, at 1703 N. Front Street. Reed said the new firm is owned and operated by longtime midstate developer Thomas D. Powers, who will serve as president of the new development concern. Powers is joined by CEO Doug Neidich, CFO John Tierney and Project Coordinator Ellie Auchincloss. The new firm will provide real estate development, consulting, brokerage and marketing services, with a special focus on rehabilitating existing buildings and areas that have become blighted or are under- utilized. The Mayor said Powers & Associates occupies 1500 sq. ft. of restored office space at 1703 N. Front Street, and provides new full time employment for four employees. The company will be engaged in activities across the midstate and the Mid-Atlantic U.S. region. “The principals of Power & Associates are among the most experienced and successful real estate developers in the midstate,” said Mayor Reed. “They already have an extensive history of development in the Capital Region, and are well positioned for future growth and accomplishment.” In their first month of business, Powers and Associates has already attracted an extensive list of consulting clients, including, Daley/Morris Partnership-Penn Center, Harrisburg Area Community College, Legacy Bank, Anderson Janitorial, Kairos Design Group, Central PA Blood Bank, Borough of Steelton, Central Penn College, Vera, Inc. and Bennett Williams Real Estate. Powers serves as President of the Bennett Williams Capital Region office, adding commercial real estate brokerage to the services offered by Powers & Associates. Reed said the new firm is committed to fighting suburban sprawl through a special focus upon adaptive and reuse development projects, which involve the reuse or demolition and new construction on sites that have been previously used but are currently abandoned or underutilized. “There are significant development opportunities across the midstate that involve the reuse of existing sites and structures,” said President Tom Powers. “We believe the best way to help our communities is by reinvesting in them through appropriate development, rather than proliferating the suburban sprawl that is choking our highways, polluting our environment and generally decreasing our region’s overall quality of life.” Powers and Associates is currently exploring projects in Harrisburg, Steelton, Carlisle, Mechanicsburg and Lebanon. Powers and Associates LLC can be contacted at 1703 N. Front Street at (717) 238.2646. |
