BASIC STEPS DAYCARE PROVIDES CONVENIENT, AFFORDABLE DAYCARE SERVICES FOR INFANTS TO SCHOOL-AGE CHILDREN

Harrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon to officially open the new Basic Steps Daycare Center at 1223 N. Cameron Street, providing a new and affordable daycare center that is conveniently located along one of the city’s primary traffic corridors and near to many major businesses and employers.

Reed said the new Basic Steps Daycare Center is owned and operated by entrepreneur Julie Ward, who has been a professional daycare service provider since 1997. The new Center occupies 3,800 sq. ft. of remodeled space and can serve up to 58 children from infant-age through elementary school. Before and after-school programs are also offered for working parents in need of latchkey care for their children. The Center employs six experienced full and part-time childcare professionals.

The Mayor said Basic Steps also provides daily breakfasts, lunches and dinners for children in their care, and offers affordable rates for low and moderate income working families. The Center also works in conjunction with the nearby Downey Elementary School for services.

“This is a very clean, safe and affordable daycare service that has the added benefit of being located near many major city employers,” said the Mayor. “With a professional staff, a wide range of services for children of all ages, and such added amenities as meal services and more, Basic Steps Daycare Center is very well positioned for growth and success.”

Basic Steps Daycare Center can be reached at (717) 232.1466, and is open weekdays from 6:30 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
