CAMERON STREET REOPENS TO TRAFFIC, ALONG WITH MARKET STREET BRIDGE & MOST OF FRONT STREETHarrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed tonight reported that all of Cameron Street has reopened to traffic in the City of Harrisburg this evening. In late afternoon, the Market Street Bridge also reopened. Further, all of Front Street, from the north city line to Chestnut Street is now open to traffic. The area of Front Street below Chestnut is still partially flooded, as is the 2nd Street ramp from Interstate 83 and these two areas therefore remain closed. It is hoped that as the Susquehanna River continues to drop in current flood level that the roadway waters will recede and crews can then clear, hose down and streetsweep these two areas, so they can be opened to traffic.
