NEW RESTAURANT ADDS TO ETHNIC FLARE IN STRAWBERRY SQUAREHarrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon on another new restaurant in the city. The new JaVina’s Restaurant merges Japanese and Vietnamese flavors and is open in Strawberry Square’s food court. The Mayor said JaVina’s offers a fresh and healthy selection of traditional Japanese and Vietnamese cuisine that is free of preservatives and is further distinguished by being cooked only when ordered, rather than pre-prepared, thus ensuring freshness. Co-owner Lac Longson said “we see a lot of people going out of the city for Japanese and Vietnamese food, so we thought it would be good addition to the city’s already existing restaurant base.” Reed said JaVina’s features traditional Vietnamese soups and Asian rolls, such as California rolls and eel cucumber rolls. Customers will also be able to choose from three kinds of Japanese teriyaki and a selection of salads. “JaVina’s is a distinctive and welcome addition to the city’s expanding restaurant base, offering a unique menu that is unavailable anywhere else in the region. Plus the new public consciousness about healthy diets has realized a dramatic growth in the popularity of Asian cuisine.” Longson said the family-owned and operated JaVina’s opted to locate in Strawberry Square because of the absence of similar food offerings, as well as the existing heavy foot traffic. JaVina’s creates four new full and parttime positions, and is open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., Monday through Friday, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. JaVina’s can be reached at (717) 236.0511 XXX |
