2004 Harrisburg Holiday Parade Planning Underway; Entrants Now Invited To Register
Mayor Stephen R. Reed today invited area bands, organizations, groups, businesses and individuals to register now for the upcoming Harrisburg Holiday Parade, slated for Saturday, November 20, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in the downtown. The theme for this year’s Holiday Parade is “Favorite Holiday Stories”.
Most Street Flooding Recedes; Paxton Creek Flooded
Mayor Stephen R. Reed tonight reported that street flooding that had closed many streets in Harrisburg has largely receded and that only Cameron and Maclay Street, and the 1000 block of Maclay Street at the Farm Show Complex, remains flooded and closed at this hour.
Flood Recovery, Damage Assessments Continue, Seminar For Flood Victims Set For Wednesday; Health Advisory Issued
Mayor Stephen R. Reed today reported that flood recovery, clean-up, and repair construction activities are fully underway in all flood zones, and the pace will likely pick-up even further this weekend when most flood victims are free of their regular employment duties.
Boil Water Advisory Lifted For Harrisburg Water System
Mayor Stephen R. Reed this morning announced that the Boil Water Advisory for customers of the Harrisburg Water System is cancelled as of 11:00 a.m. today, (Friday, Sept. 24). Normal water usage may resume.

Mayor Stephen R. Reed announced that all customers of the Harrisburg Water System should boil any water being used for drinking or cooking for three minutes.
Regional Summit Scheduled For October 14 At Wildwood Center

Downey Elementary School Renovated, Doubled In Size; Entire Neighborhood Being Transformed
Mayor Stephen R. Reed and Harrisburg School District officials today dedicated a completely refurbished Downey Elementary School at 1313 Monroe Street which has been more than doubled in size and will house the most advanced learning technology and facilities and includes a new health clinic.
