MURDER SUSPECT NOW IN CUSTODYHarrisburg, PA – Mayor Stephen R. Reed tonight announced that the suspect in the murder of 27-year old Rosalyn Denise Hearn of the 2200 block of Penn Street has been arrested in Philadelphia. The suspect, 36-year old Mark Stukes, was picked up by that city’s police after Harrisburg notified them today of warrants for his arrest on charges of Criminal Homicide and 2 counts of Terroristic Threats on Children. Stukes is being charged in connection with the death of Hearn, whose body was discovered early Tuesday evening (July 13). She had sustained blunt force trauma to the head and strangulation. The victim’s 5 and 9 year old children are now staying with relatives. Reed said city police will pick-up Stukes and bring him back to Harrisburg in the early morning hours of Thursday, barring any legal snare that must first be worked out prior to transport. Reed praised the Philadelphia Police Department for their “excellent and quick cooperation on this especially horrific crime.” XXX |
