Philadelphia 76ers Summer Hoops Tour Comes To Harrisburg For City Recreation Program

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the Philadelphia 76ers ‘Sixers Summer Hoops Tour’ will be in Harrisburg on Monday, July 26, at the Manny Weaver Gym at Rowland School, 19th and Derry Streets, for a special basketball skills program. The program begins at 1:00 p.m. and is free and open to city youth participating in the city’s Summer Recreation Program.

Mayor Announces 2nd Season For Levitt Performing Arts Series In Restored Reservoir Park Bandshell; All Concerts Free To Public

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced the artists’ roster and dates for the second annual Levitt Pavilion Performing Arts Series, slated for June 4 through August 28, at the newly-restored Levitt Pavilion for the Performing Arts in Reservoir Park. The Mayor also kicked off the new “Walk of Stars”, a commem- orative brick walkway fundraising campaign which will create a nearly 3,000-foot walkway around the newly-restored Levitt Pavilion.

General Alarm Fire Ruled Accidental, 1 Minor Firefighter Injury

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today reported that a general alarm fire at 547 South 19th Street this afternoon has been ruled accidental. It caused over $70,000 damage to two structures and contents.

Rain Check Night At The Fair Slated For Friday Night – Ride All Night For Only $15

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the Keystone Capital Fair will offer a special $15 ride-all-night offer tomorrow night, Friday July 16, from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m. The discounted ride offer is designed to encourage attendance at the inaugural Fair, which is in its final three days this weekend at the State Farm Show Complex.

Downtown Street To Be Closed For Removal Of 20-Story Crane

Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the first block of N. Second Street, from Market to Walnut Streets, will be temporarily closed to traffic during the evenings next week to accommodate the removal of the large crane being used at the Market Square Plaza construction site in downtown.
