NEW SUBWAY SANDWICH SHOP OPENS IN MIDTOWN NEIGHBORHOOD

Harrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today conducted the ribbon cutting for a new Subway Sandwich Shop at 900 N. Third Street, which is conveniently located at the strategic city intersection of N. Third and Forster Streets in the city‘s Midtown section.

Mayor Reed said the new Subway Sandwich Shop is owned by principal Barbara Conklin, and represents more than $150,000 in new private investment. Financing for the project, which creates ten new jobs, was provided by Waypoint Bank, for whom Conklin previously served as the bank‘s downtown branch office manager.

Reed said the new eatery is part of the respected national chain of Subway restaurants, and offers a full array of health conscious foods and services. The Atkins approved menu includes sandwiches, wraps, salads and giant subs, and is available for school lunch programs, fundraisers and other special events.

The Mayor said the new restaurant is conveniently located both in the Midtown and on the edge of the downtown at the northwest corner of N. Third and State Streets, near the Capitol Complex and State Museum, and is along a major city commuter route, allowing easy access for quick evening dining and take-out. Plenty of free and metered parking is located beside the new dining site.

The new Subway Restaurant can be reached at (717) 901.SUBS(7827), or via fax at (717) 909.6765. Operating hours are 7:30 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturdays, and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Sundays.
