HOT NEW ‘CURVES’ WOMEN-ONLY FITNESS CLUB OPENS IN DOWNTOWN

Harrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today cut the ribbon for the new Curves Fitness Center at 8-10 S. Third Street, in the historic Colonial Building in downtown. The unique women-only fitness studio features the trademarked Curves fitness system routines and equipment, as well as the Curves brand dietary supplements.

Mayor Reed said the new facility is owned and operated by midstate entrepreneur Kathy Trapp, who also operates another Curves fitness facility in East Pennsboro Township. The distinctive new 2,000 sq. ft. personal training and weight loss center provides new fulltime jobs in the downtown, and represents a major private investment by Trapp. Curves offers fast fitness results utilizing strength training and aerobics in a patented 30-minute workout that includes an array of strength and circuit equipment.

Reed said the new fitness center provides the ultimate in privacy and is for women only.

“We are delighted to welcome Kathy Trapp and the Curves Fitness Center to the growing retail and service industries in Harrisburg,” said Mayor Stephen R. The Mayor also noted that the Curves fitness training concept is being well noticed across the country, and was recently recognized by Entrepreneur Magazine as the fastest growing business enterprise in the nation.
