VACANT LAND PARCEL OFFERED FOR NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENTHarrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the city will take proposals from prospective developers for the triangularly shaped open land parcel bounded by S. 18th, Derry and Berryhill Streets. The 80,000 square feet site offers unobstructed frontage onto all three streets and could be used for residential, retail or commercial purposes or a combination of these uses. No industrial use would be permitted under the zoning code. The only part of the one and a half square block area that is currently occupied is Sorrento’s Pizza, which will remain. The Harrisburg School District owns all the remaining land, which is what is now being offered for sale. The city is promoting it for neighborhood economic development purposes, with the sale proceeds to go to the school district. Interested parties should submit proposals by April 15 to the Mayor’s Office of Economic Development, Suite 405, City Government Center, 10 N 2nd St., Harrisburg, PA 17101. Proposals may be for part or all of the site. XXX |
