NEW ‘MITRANI AT HOME’ RETAILER PROVIDES DISTINCTIVE DOWNTOWN SHOPPING EXPERIENCE

Harrisburg, PA—A distinctive new shopping experience awaits downtown visitors Mayor Stephen R. Reed announced today during ribbon cutting services for the new Mitrani At Home international furnishings and gift store located at 321 N. 2nd Street in the heart of ‘Restaurant Row’.

The Mayor said Mitrani At Home is owned and operated by midstate importers Albert Mitrani and Donna Orbach, and is a unique new international home furnishings store that provides an eclectic mix of furniture, rugs, lighting and antiques from around the world, including Russian, Chinese, European, Turkish and Indian items. Distinctive creations from local artisans and craftpersons are also offered in the store, which features an inviting ‘living room’ atmosphere and visually intriguing displays created by area interior designer Paula Stahl. The 3,800 sq. ft. store is an outgrowth of the couple’s successful importing business that has been operating in the midstate since 1991.

“Mitrani At Home is a very significant addition to downtown Harrisburg’s expanding shopping district,” said Mayor Reed. “It is exactly the type of distinctive and one-of-a-kind retail attraction that is the hallmark of the downtown shopping experience, and its strategic location in the heart of the Restaurant Row District provides an established audience for its offerings. Our appreciation is extended to the proprietors for their significant investment of time, effort and money realized by this exciting new store, and we look forward to their future success.”

Reed said Mitrani At Home also represents the restoration and return to use of an important downtown historic structure that has been underutilized in recent years. The 19th Century building was first used by the Grace United Methodist Church and later became the Ohev Shalom Temple. In more recent years it has been utilized for commercial purposes.

The Mayor said Mitrani At Home is open Mondays through Thursdays from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.. and on Fridays and Saturdays from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. The store is closed on Sundays and the phone number is 717.238.3176.
