NEW RESTAURANT ADDS TO UPTOWN REBIRTH; TATER HARDEN’S CITY GRILL OPENS AT 2001 N. 6TH STREET

Harrisburg, PA—Hungry residents and visitors in Uptown Harrisburg have a distinctive new restaurant to satisfy their palates, Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced during grand opening ceremonies for Tater Harden’s City Grill. The unique, full-service restaurant is located at 2001 North Sixth Street, near the intersection of N. Sixth and Maclay Streets, and occupies space that had formerly housed a KFC Restaurant, which closed several years ago.

Mayor Reed said the attractive new eatery is owned and operated by city police officer Rena Harden and her husband William, and is an outgrowth of their successful catering and retail sandwich businesses, Anointed Eats and Sweets, and Heavenly Hoagies and Sandwiches.

The Mayor said the Harden’s newest food service business is the first full-service restaurant to open in the city’s Uptown area in several years. The Hardens restored the site, providing 2600 square feet of casual dining space seating up to 50 patrons. The restaurant will serve breakfast, lunch and dinner, and provides full time employment for eight new workers.

Reed said Tater Harden’s City Grill will also serve as the headquarters for the Harden’s growing retail food service businesses, including the distinctive Anointed Eats and Sweets catering company, which provides full-service catering services for functions ranging from small meetings to large weddings and more. The Harden’s other successful business, Heavenly Hoagies and Sandwiches, provides ready-to-serve sandwiches to 18 different midstate convenience stores.

“We are delighted to welcome Tater Harden’s City Grill to Harrisburg and congratulate Rena and William for their drive, vision and dedication in bringing this terrific new restaurant to fruition,” said Mayor Stephen R. Reed. “Both have labored for years to achieve their goals, and this splendid new dining attraction is a crowning glory of their many accomplishments.”

The Mayor said Tater Harden’s City Grill will feature a largely American cuisine menu. The restaurant features the signature Big Bill’s Belly Buster sandwiches, which are guaranteed to fill even the hungriest customer’s appetite, and for the ultimate in customer service, they will also provide free delivery service.

Tater Harden’s City Grill is open daily Mondays through Fridays from 5:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., and Fridays and Saturdays from 5:30 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. They can be reached at (717) 238.2019, by fax at 238.2044, and via email at wdharden60@yahoo.com .
