POPULAR “PICTURES IN THE PARK DRIVE-IN” FAMILY MOVIES SLATED FOR CITY ISLAND; SERIES GETS UNDERWAY THIS SATURDAY WITH FREE ‘SPY KIDS 2’ MOVIE

Harrisburg, PA—Mayor Stephen R. Reed has announced that Harrisburg’s popular ‘Peter Pan Pictures In The Park’ family movie series returns to City Island this Saturday evening, July 12, with the free showing of SPY KIDS 2, beginning at 8:30 p.m. in Skyline Sports Complex. The innovative new city special event series features free, open-air, feature length films with plenty of other family and youth-oriented programming and activities.

Mayor Reed said the Series, which first began in 2002, will continue on Saturday, August 2, with the free showing of E.T., and concludes on Friday, September 5, with the free presentation of Harry Potter. The films will be shown on a large screen in Skyline Sports Complex. Gates open at 5:00 p.m., with an array of family and children-oriented games, contests, giveaways and more.

Reed said the unique new Series is presented by the Peter Pan Peanut Butter Company, and is co-sponsored by the City, Weis Markets and Con Agra Foods. The events feature free prizes, product giveaways, face painting, magicians, clowns and more.

“This is a free and delightful way for the entire family to spend the evening together,” said Mayor Reed. “The Peter Pan ‘Pictures In The Park’ Series features filmfare that the entire family can enjoy and parents need not worry about foul language or other more adult-oriented situations or scenes.

“The Peter Pan ‘Pictures In The Park’ Series is a significant new addition to Harrisburg’s already extensive annual schedule of free special events, which regularly serves over 2 million visitors and residents a year.”
