KOKOMOS DOWNTOWN OPENS; NEW SPORTS BAR TO OFFER WORLD-FAMOUS WINGS & AMERICAN CUISINE

Harrisburg, PA—Downtown Harrisburg’s Restaurant Row received another major boost today as Kokomos Downtown was officially welcomed to the city by Mayor Stephen R. Reed during ribbon cutting ceremonies held this afternoon. The new sports-themed eatery and entertainment center is located at the intersection of N. Second and Pine Streets.

Reed said Kokomos Downtown is the result of a major, half-million dollar investment by principals Sean Barowski, the original founder of the growing Kokomos chain, brother Stan Barowski, and partner Al Dolatoski. The 3,600 sq. ft. restaurant underwent substantial renovation, including bringing the site fully up to current city codes. Nearly two dozen new full and part time jobs are created by the new entertainment and dining attraction.

The Mayor said the new restaurant will offer the world-famous Kokomos hot wings, along with a diverse American-cuisine menu. The business is open for lunch and dinner, with daily Monday through Sunday operating hours of 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Seating for approximately 125 diners is provided. Kokomos Downtown will also offer a full range of sports broadcasting, with Major League Baseball satellite television showing all games this season, as well as the Sunday NFL Ticket in the Fall. Other sports match-ups, such as NBA basketball, NHL hockey, AFL arena football, and other sports programming will also be offered.

“We are delighted to welcome Kokomos Downtown to the growing Harrisburg dining and entertainment scene,” said Mayor Reed. “The principals of Kokomos are very experienced in the dining and entertainment industry, with two other locations already well established on both the East and West Shores. Their arrival in downtown presents yet another appealing option for patrons of Harrisburg’s popular Restaurant Row District.”
