February 28, 2003 — Harrisburg Polytechnic Institute Receives Federal Grant From Cong. Tim Holden
Harrisburg’s Polytechnic Institute (HPI) received another major boost today as Congressman Tim Holden and Mayor Stephen R. Reed announced the award of a $262,000 federal grant to the planned city-based university. The grant monies will be used for operating expenses and information technology infrastructure development.

February 26, 2003 — Harrisburg Polytechnic Prep School and High-Tech Business Incubator To Be Located In Former Downtown YWCA Site
Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the former YWCA building at 215 Market Street will soon house the Harrisburg Polytechnic Institute’s high school-level Preparatory School and the separate Institute Business Incubator. More than $7 million in rehabilitation work will now get underway at the historic site, with a completion date of Spring, 2004 anticipated.

February 24, 2003 — Award Winning 5th Annual Black History Month Youth Performing Artist Showcase Set for Friday, March 14 at the Forum
Mayor Stephen R. Reed today announced that the City of Harrisburg’s 5th Annual Black History Month Youth Performing Artist Showcase is set for Friday, March 14, at the Forum Building at Fifth and Walnut Streets in downtown. Two performances will be held, with the 7:30 p.m. evening presentation free and open to the public. A 9:00 a.m. performance, also free, is open only to city school students and senior citizens.
