NEW MANGIA QUI RESTAURANT OPENS IN DOWNTOWN; FINE ITALIAN, MEDITERRANEAN-INFLUENCED CUISINE OFFERED

Harrisburg, PA — Mayor Stephen R. Reed today conducted dedication ceremonies for the grand opening of the new Mangia Qui restaurant at 272 North Street, in downtown. The distinctive new eatery, open six days a week, offers affordable and convenient Italian and Mediterranean-influenced lunch and dinner menus.

Reed said Mangia Qui restaurant is owned and operated by noted midstate chef Qui Qui Musarra, who previously served as head chef at the Firehouse Restaurant, and currently operates the ’Pasta Art’ stand at the Broad Street Market. Musarra was formally trained at the Culinary Institute of New York, and previously provided culinary services to the Hilton Hotel in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and at the Ritz Hotel in Madrid, Spain.

The Mayor said the Mangia Qui occupies the former site of the former Paper Moon restaurant. Six new full and part-time positions are created by the opening, with additional hires planned for the future. Mangia Qui is conveniently located across the street from the State Capitol Complex, the State Museum, and the newly-opened Keystone Building.

Reed said the newly-opened restaurant provides seating for 40 diners, and features freshly made pastas, breads, antipastos, sauces and cheeses. Entrees range from $13 to $24, with luncheon specials as low as $8.

The Mayor said Mangia Qui is open Tuesdays through Fridays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. for lunch and Sunday brunch; and Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 5:30 to 10 p.m. for dinner. Mangia Qui is available weeknights for private function rentals and special events, and can be reached at (717) 233.7358
